Since 2006 - A Practical Path to a Sacred Life
Registration opens November 2019 for April 2020 start
What is the White Bone Shamanic Arts Apprenticeship?
A year long soul devotion (with optional additional years) into an Earth Medicine path of human development, spiritual growth, empowerment, and healing.
Like the colour white which contains all the colours of the rainbow, and the indestructible bones of the soul, the White Bone path is a global weaving with its roots in the ancient Irish and Celtic cosmologies of the Triple Medicine Spiral, the Four Airts (directions), and the Four Gateways (seasonal festivals).
It is also woven with kindred cosmologies, complimentary shamanic practices, and wisdom teachings from Core Shamanism, Peru, Australia, Mexico, and Canada. These kindred and complimentary threads have been used for millenia by traditional medicine people around the world to understand, weave, and harmonize with the living energies of the cosmos. The White Bone path reflects many of our current personal experiences of ancestors from far away lands, and teachers from all corners of the earth.

Where Do We Meet?
Our weekend immersion gatherings are held in beautiful Lions Bay on the Sea to Sky Highway,
just 30 minutes from Vancouver, and 30 minutes from Squamish. Here we are nestled in the mountains, and just a walk away from the river and the ocean.
Is this Apprenticeship Right for Me?
In our culture today, we juggle a multitude of roles and tasks at an ever-increasing speed,
often feeling pressured to produce bigger and better. With our minds busy, our hearts and souls call to us, but there is little time or space left to respond. We are pulled and distracted away time and time again. We end up questioning our place and purpose in the world. We long to contribute and feel useful.
The White Bone Shamanic Arts Apprenticeship provides a space and place for your sacred journey home to your True Self.
The world needs your Unique Medicine, your Gifts, your Presence!
"Before the apprenticeship, I knew I wanted to explore shamanism but I didn't know where to start. I had heard so many different things from different people, and I was searching for some clarity. Then, in a beautiful synchronistic way, the White Bone Apprenticeship appeared before me. From the very first weekend, Angela's teachings affected me in a profound way and everything in my life started to make sense. We learned about journeying, proper protocol, gathering our medicine and building our Medicine Hearth while working with the Medicine Spiral and the seasonal directions. Not only did I gain so much knowledge, I also developed connections with wonderful people walking on the same path. As part of the apprenticeship, I have access to an online group where we discuss what we have learned and help each other with integration. Apart from being highly organized and thorough in her work, Angela has a beautiful way of providing sacred space and ceremony that feels down to earth and connected to Spirit. I loved the first year so much that I'm now in my second year, deepening my connection and learning how to work with the Medicine. I am forever grateful for the teachings of the White Bone."
~ Caitlin, Mayne Island, BC

Building Your Medicine Hearth
All ancestors around the world were dependent on the central fire or hearth of their home for nourishment, warmth, community, and sustenance. One of the main practices and teachings of the WBSAA is the Medicine Hearth which is your unique and personal medicine bundle and altar of your soul, similar to a Mesa, Mála Naofa or Medicine Bundle which are often known as the most important and powerful tools of shaman around the world.
Based on the old Irish medicine story of The Crane Bag, your Medicine Hearth reflects your journey as the Wounded Healer supporting you and connecting you to medicines and spirits of sacred places, power animals, spirit guides, healing plants, and ancestors. Representing the world in sacred harmony and wholeness, your Medicine Hearth is the microcosm of the macrocosm of life, and a mirror to all that is within and around you.
As we move through our year together, we will travel inward through the Triple Medicine Spiral and you will have an opportunity to build your Medicine Hearth as you:
- Reflect on your life
- Heal and reclaim your power
- Open and strengthen your heart
- Come into your Sovereignty
- Navigate change with skill and grace

The Centre is the place of becoming a harmonizing presence in our world – not by “doing” or “using” the medicine, but rather by being the medicine. Here we hold the medicine and are held by it, we are of service to and serviced by the medicine, we are grounded in and being grounded by the medicine. Our life is less about who we are and more informed by what and how we are.

No matter where you are on your journey, the skills and practices, as well as the ways of being and seeing, can be applied to real-life conditions to reveal a deeper dream and power both within you and to which you are connected.
As medicine people, healers, and seers from around the world know, we are the microcosm of the macrocosm, so as we heal and harmonize our Selves, we become harmonizing agents for the world.

"It's always my deep privilege to accompany and support you on the path of the White Bone, and to share the medicine and wisdom teachings that have been so generously passed onto me by my teachers, elders, and ancestors. My vision is to support you finding your unique medicine, and learning how to be a Harmonizing Presence in our world. This requires you taking your seat in the unique and wild song of your soul, sovereign and unfettered by outside influence, in a sacred relationship with the Natural Law of Life. Then you are no longer trapped in the illusions of the over-culture, which are based in separation, polarity, ego, and fear. You can have a happy life, not necessarily an easy life, but a sweet and purposeful life, living each moment in your gifts!"
~ Angela Prider
"Before I joined the Apprenticeship program, I knew I wanted to make changes in my life, but I was unsure of myself, and lacking clarity. Angela provided a safe space to explore issues, while supporting and challenging me to grow. Within a great group, we explored the unknown, developed our own strengths and skills, and also just had fun. As a result of the process, I feel very connected to my own power. I'm in the flow with my creative work, and my awareness has opened up. I have much more confidence, strength, and clarity than I did before. While life will always bring fresh challenges, I feel I have the tools to face them — as an adventurer, rather than a passenger in life."
~ L. Commons, Vancouver, BC
"I found the apprenticeship program to be a highly transformative process. I entered into the program during one of the most challenging times of my life. The course taught me strength and gave me the courage to face those challenges and to be a strong harmonizing presence for my family and the community. I deeply value the shamanic path and the relationships that I have developed with the spiritual realm. These special relationships taught me the value of support. Angela is a passionate teacher that has supported my process and development. She has facilitated the healing and clearing of my negative beliefs and limitations that have kept me stuck in my life and has designed powerful class exercises including ceremony and ritual to release those patterns. For myself, this program has challenged me, confronted me on my issues and assisted in my path of transformation to become a better and stronger person. For, this I am grateful. Thank you!"
~ Christa Lynn, Vancouver, BC
"I've come to believe in something I call "The Physics of The Quest" – a force of nature governed by laws as real as the laws of gravity. And the rule of Quest Physics goes something like this: "If you are brave enough to leave behind everything familiar and comforting (which can be anything from your house to your bitter old resentments) and set out on a truth-seeking journey (either externally or internally), and if you are truly willing to regard everything that happens to you on that journey as a clue, and if you accept everyone you meet along the way as a teacher, and if you are prepared – most of all – to face (and forgive) some very difficult realities about yourself... then the truth will not be withheld from you." I can't help but believe it given my experience."
~ Elizabeth Gilbert (Author of Eat, Pray, Love)
Please note: The White Bone Shamanic Apprenticeship also has mastery gatherings available. These will be available again soon.
